The surroundings of Casa Liesel: Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción Casa Liesel is located on Almirante Montt street in the border of these two hills, whose urban history belongs to the whole story of Valparaiso. The hills are part of colonial Valparaíso (Mankind Heritage) and have important and beautiful places and artworks worthywhile to know. These hills have three elevators (funiculares) declared Historical Monument: El Peral, Reina Victoria y Concepción (The oldest built in 1883) and other two historical buildings: the Anglican Church of San Pablo (neogothic inspiration, 1858) and the Baburizza Palace (art nouveau, finished in 1916), currently Art Museum. In Cerro Alegre it is the San Luis de Gónzaga church (1886, catholic, for non protestant foreigners). The German Evangelical Chapel (1800 ends), that has a laborious inner woodwork, completes the religious surrounding of the hills.
These hills count, in addition, with several sightseeing places to the bay, like the Paseo Yugoeslavo, Paseo Atkinson and Gervasoni. Currently both hills count with a wide variety of cultural activities, such as art rooms, factories and handcrafts, as well as national and international cuisine, wine and even some shows. Why a B&B? Since Valparaíso was declared Mankind Heritage by UNESCO the visitors affluence has increased. The development of tourist activities has been increased. This allowed us to return, to support this development, to work and gain our lifes in our beloved port, to stay here for ever and hopefully never leave it again. In same way, our interest is to return the kindness of many friends who sheltered us when we were abroad. We want to show people that we are friendly, cosy, and that we take care honestly to our friends from other parts of Chile and other countries that visit this incredible port.
We want that they fill confident, sure and pleasant with us. We will serve, help and advice as much as we can so that they now, understand and never forget Valparaíso and its people.
Casa Liesel is located in an old building, declared national monument, that has been recently refurnish according to the german and european tradition to serve our guests the best possible. Everything is easy, clean, hygienic, ordered with a good taste and our commitment is to keep it that way for you.
